The Grammys 2010: Red Carpet Slideshow

I wasn’t planning on posting this, because to me a day later is too late. I would have preferred to do it as soon as they wrapped the Red Carpet but I’m doing this post especially for the folk who missed Red Carpet (KizzyAnn baby I see You)!

Check out the slideshow below, and since Im in that red-carpet-judgemental frame of mind. I will send out an ‘Inside Ms.Zindzi’ with my top picks of the night, and a lil Grammy rundown. ;-)

SIZZLING DECEMBER REALEASES!: Brandy, Avant, Jamie, Keyshia, Common & More…

I don’t know about you but I love me some MUSIQ SOULCHILD
More than a year after the release of his sophomore album, Musiq Soulchild AKA Tallib Johnson is back with his 3rd album. It features 12 R&B and Neo-Soul tracks with appearances by HIP-HOP/SOUL’s Queen Miss Mary J. Blige (who by the way is on the 1st single off the album ‘IfULeave‘) and, the son of the Late & Great Bob Marley, Damien Marley who’s featured on the last track on the album, ‘IWannaBe‘.
Released: December 9th

I’m not sure anymore…
To be perfectly honest I’m not sure I’m liking Keyshia on this one…’Playa Cardz‘ seems like a hopeless ploy to add to Tupac’s long list of after-death duets. But on the flip-side, ‘Trust (duet with Monica)’ is a track that I love – I loved it even when Monica wasn’t on there and I loved it when it leaked and didn’t make the ‘Just Like You‘ album last year.
Keyshia’s new album dropped on December 16th.
PS: What ever happened to Monica dropping that new album? Dannnnng! I even watched the show, and I was feeling the track with Luda. Hmmm…Well whenever she does, I will have all the juicy details!

Jamie, Jamie, Jamie..I loves me some Jamie!
Is it just me that’s been listening to his ‘Unpredictable‘ album on constant replay? Now that’s a hella sexy album. I must admit though, it took me a while to get used to the idea of Jamie The Singer, I had a really hard time getting Jamie The Comedian out of my head. He’s grown and sexy now, and he released his 2nd album last week (December 16th). The first single off the album features none other than The Rubberband Man AKA T.I. himself. Peep the video hereTaraji Henson is starring in the video being her usual sassy self.

Not a huge fan…But I’m featuring this one for all the Common fans.
This is Common’s 8th album and after much delay it was finally released on December 9th. The first singlehas the same title as the album (Universal Mind Control) and it features Pharell who also produced the track. Click here to check out the video. Will Hermes referred to Common as ‘Rap’s Deep Thinker’. He reviewed his new album saying “On the Biggie-style “Announcement,” he [Common] calls hip-hop his “bitch” — shocking for a guy who made hip-hop his girlfriend on “I Used to Love H.E.R.” Only “Change” finds him back in street-preacher mode; it’s a hopeful tribute to his Chicago homeboy, Obama.

Before this album Brandy was just another child prodigy to me but…I’m really feeling her on this one.
From the Intro to the final track I was hooked. After just about 4 years after her worst album release yet, Brandy is back. The album features a branch away from R&B into a more pop sound. She has matured a lot vocally. the album featured production by Darkchild AKA Rodney Jerkins. Honestly though….*SIGH*…the reviews ain’t really too great – 411mania.com says “While the lyrical content is strong, the musical content is too weak to make a mark…The future doesn’t look bright for Ms Norwood.” Check out Brandy’s BET Special here.
Released: December 9th

Remember how sexy ‘The Director‘ album was? Wooooweee!
8 years and 5 albums later, Avant is back to give us more of that sexy sound and lyrical content in his new self titled album. When asked about his longevity in the industry Avant said “I’ve proved my point. The album reflects who I am. I think one of the reasons I’ve been able to enjoy the kind of longevity I’ve had, is that I write songs that are about real-life situations. [concreteloop.com]
His first single ‘When it Hurts’ sounds good, check it out.
His self titled album was released on December 9th.

Soulful brotha Anthony Hamilton – I got ALL his albums, I bump to them allllll the time!
Anthony Hamilton is hardly just a voice, he is also a multi-talented songwriter, arranger, and producer. He is back with his 6th studio album and please believe he hasn’t disappointed fans. Have you heard ‘Cool‘ featuring David Banner? This album is slightly geared mainstream but the soulfulness still shines through. Buy it!! ‘The Point of it All‘ dropped on December 16th

Have you noticed that all the goood albums drop on Tuesdays? Hmm…More album juice coming soon…

Season’s Greetings ya’ll! :-)
