Now I really need to vent…and yall already know that this is the only place I feel comfortable!
I need your thoughts…
About 2 weeks ago I sent out invitations for my 21st birthday celebration (a celebration that only happens once in a girl’s lifetime) and on the invites I made a few specifications as to what my attendees can expect on the night (FUN and GOOD TIMES) and what I expect from my attendees, like 1) EVERY Attendee MUST Bring a Present 2) NO ALCOHOLIC Presents Will Be Accepted 3) A Birthday Card WILL NOT Be Classed as a Present 4) Dresscode STRICTLY Party Wear i.e. Heels, NO JEANS.
I mean like really, what’s so wrong about asking someone to bring a present (and STRICTLY meaning it)??!! A girl only turns 21 once, and YES I understand that their presence at the celebrations is worth a lot more than presents ever will (no one appreciates that more than me), I think its fair to ask for a present seeing that I am NEVER one to ask for presents not for Xmas and never for Bday. I always get cards every year and I love them a lot, in fact I collect them! But I’m gonna be 21 (in about 3 weeks which means the will have had 4 or 5 weeks to prepare) and I think I’m allowed to atleast demand 1 present from each of the few attendees at my intimate celebration, just this one special time. No??
Mojo tells me I’m acting like a diva. I don’t agree, at all. But even so, am I not allowed just this one time??

/ December 7, 2009Diva r not I don’t c the crime. Personally I thinks bday r d only day in d year dat allow u 2 make demands. Last year my request was that every1 wore something purple…I didn’t care whether it was nail polish r shoes. I think again like u said its d thought dat counts especially if d person(fren) makes an intiative to just shut & do wat u want. Hey its ure day

/ December 8, 2009Thats what I’m saying. But the only difference is I NEVER ask for presents – its only this year since I’m turning 21 I bothered to make a fuss. But whatev. If I don’t get presents, then I dont. If I do, then I do. I’ll be thankful for another year all the same, Simple.
