…In fact we won! YAY! Congrats to us!
So today, last night, the night before I was a nervous wreck! There were moments when I was a lot less nervous than others, when I felt extremely calm but everytime I thought of the size of the auditorium and the potential size of the audience I’d be shook once again!
I know the task I discribed in the previous post seemed so trivial and somewhat easy, but the formailities and the actual format of the event were anythign but simple!
ALL DAY, I’d been feelign like I had bad luck! The unexpected stain on my trousers that I had planned to wear to the presentation, forgetting to lint-roll my pencil skirt before I left my flat, and forgeting my purse at home all indicated that my luck went to the dogs, huh? Ha! I laugh at that because I managed to calm down, deliver my presentation very well, and I knocked them dead! I was the best in my category and my other team mates did really well in theirs too. And overall, we walked away very victorious!
If I had to do it all over again, I WOULD! And I am actually thinking of taking part next year again, if I can. I also wish to take up a more prominent role within my MCS society – Perhaps the President for the 2009/10 academic year? Hmmmmm….
I feel better equiped with employability skills, which is the aim of this entire event. I wish for mor societies to take part, and more persons to attend. I have an extra credential to add to my CV, I recieved a certificate, a DVD of my presentation and I have the entire experience in memory. I have one more asset than the “crowd”. Its important to stand out in this economic climate, and that what I aim to do!
I wish for the event to keep getting bigger ang bigger. And who knows? Maybe it may become a regional event in the UK or the WORLD over. LOL! One step at a time…
I HOPE I GET SOME PICS FROM THE EVENT SOON, So you guys can see yours truly in all her glory!
Thanks to Shaneke for believing in me, the entire MCS MiMzzz, Emanuel, Kwame, Jack and all the other members! Thanks, it was well worth all our efforts! VICTORY IS OURS!
xoxo, Ms.Zindzi
