Just days ago I was boasting of being a Humanitarian by age 30, but it looks like my 12 year old sister (Danielle Samuel) may beat me at my own game. I swear she’s growing into a fine young lady. After all she does have good examples you know, LOL!
She first set out to raise money for the less fortunate, just because it’s that special season marked by giving. Now, up to the last minute, I never thought she was capable of going through with it. I figured maybe she thought it was all fun, and not very much effort and work. And I KNOW she’s extremely lazy in other aspects of life so its no surprised that I had lost all confidence in her a long time ago. I guess I didn’t give her as much credit as she deserved. Because she planned it to the “T”. I mean, she was the one, making all the calls, making sure all the goodies were ready for the kids etc. which stunned me.
It is with immense pleasure that I” report that Danielle Samuel & Family has done their good deed to get onto Santa’s Nice List and into the Big Man’s good books. Lol! Today, December 23rd, we visited The Holy Family Children’s Home to spread the Christmas cheer to the less fortunate.
It was a very emotional trip for me. I guess, it wasn’t so much their environment that triggered the tears but more so, the fact that these kids didn’t have what Danielle, myself and may other sometimes take so for granted. My mother always tells us that we live fantastic lives, never abuse, waste or take for granted even the tiniest blessings. Experiences like these really opens up my eyes and my heart and more so my tear glands, LOL!
We’re pleased with our deed, so much so that we decided to make it an annual thing, of course with Ms. Danielle spare-heading it. Great deeds are infectious, I’m hoping other families/people take note and try a good deed every now and then. These kids receive so many gifts and food and goodies that they hardly know what to do with them. So we decided to, instead of making it a Christmas affair, we’d do it perhaps every Easter or so.
So, three cheers for Danielle Samuel!!
Growing up and making us all proud…
