Thank You.

Thank you very much to everyone who called or emailed or reached out to me in whatever way to extend birthday greetings. It was much appreciated and obviously it hasn’t gone unoticed.
Thanks again…

One more, thank God!! =)

Today I’m one year older, rest assured one year smarter too. I’m dearly thankful to God for allowing me to live to type this entry to mark the 19th milestone in my life. He has blessed me, is blessing me and will continue to bless me and for that I am enormously grateful. I believe that it is the gratitude for little blessings such as these that bring out the best in me and make me the woman I am. I thrive one knowing that I never take a minute of life for granted and never regretting any of my actions. It is important, it’s imperative to me to live free and take risks yet being as rational and sensible as possible. I make mistakes. No doubt, I am human so it’s inevitable. This year will be the year of the 2 C’s – “Confidence” and “Change”. In addition, my assigned prerogative for this 19th year is, as Alice Walker said, “Expect nothing. Live frugally on surprise” :-) Will post a more detailed Z’day entry and, needless to say, my Thank You’s in a couple days.

My 364th 18th Day

Now that all the fuss is over (or at least I hope it is) its time to get back to reality with me, your lovely host. :-) So this is officially the last day of my 18th birth-year. How do I feel? Hmmm, the same. How do I feel about it? I’m looking at it as my chance to smarten up, get wiser, do things differently. Basically, this is my 19th chance to get things right. Now let’s back track a bit…I last checked in on X-mas day to bid you all a jolly ole day. And since then, and even before then, I hadn’t had a good nights rest. My body is begging me to rest her, but I haven’t been giving in. So I think tomorrow, if God spares my life I shall have a good ole sleep. NB: Last year, I planned to do the same thing and only ended up being dragged out the house by Faye. Not complaining cause I had fun. Hmmm, hoping this year, it’s well spent doing whatever I choose. Not expecting many gifts this time around, I think I have gotten enough. (Thank God for small blessings). Did my late (and smart, rush-free) Xmas shopping today. Spent a whole lot of money and still not sure where it went to. Talk about INLFATION…Sigh!! Not good. Anyway People, I am off until my New Year. Mucho Blessing…

BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mikelly…=)

Merry Christmas from Zindzi.

Well ’tis the season to be jolly and be merry and BRIGHT! If you’re reading this right now, I must extend a BIG Thank You for taking time out to stop by and you do have a Merry Christmas from me and mine, to you and yours.

I hope all the Black Cake/Rum Cake and Eggnog and Sorrel Juice and of course, HAM goes down really nice or ‘ruff’, as Lucians would say. Remember to be responsible at all times. If you know you’re gonna be drinking heavily PLEASE, I urge you, designate a driver. Don’t drink and drive!! (or smoke and fly, LOL!)

Unlike some of you I have a lil’ less to worry about this Christmas since I have not had alcohol for almost 3 weeks now, and intends to keep it that way for a VERY LONG time AND since I don’t/can’t drive (Yes, I know, Shame on me!!).

And what is Christmas without a party or two?! Be sure to get out the house and enjoy yourself to the max, I know I will…Xmas has hardly even arrived and my sleep count has decreased tremendously. …sigh!

Be Safe and Festive my people :-D

Danielle Samuel & Family.

Just days ago I was boasting of being a Humanitarian by age 30, but it looks like my 12 year old sister (Danielle Samuel) may beat me at my own game. I swear she’s growing into a fine young lady. After all she does have good examples you know, LOL!

She first set out to raise money for the less fortunate, just because it’s that special season marked by giving. Now, up to the last minute, I never thought she was capable of going through with it. I figured maybe she thought it was all fun, and not very much effort and work. And I KNOW she’s extremely lazy in other aspects of life so its no surprised that I had lost all confidence in her a long time ago. I guess I didn’t give her as much credit as she deserved. Because she planned it to the “T”. I mean, she was the one, making all the calls, making sure all the goodies were ready for the kids etc. which stunned me.

It is with immense pleasure that I” report that Danielle Samuel & Family has done their good deed to get onto Santa’s Nice List and into the Big Man’s good books. Lol! Today, December 23rd, we visited The Holy Family Children’s Home to spread the Christmas cheer to the less fortunate.

It was a very emotional trip for me. I guess, it wasn’t so much their environment that triggered the tears but more so, the fact that these kids didn’t have what Danielle, myself and may other sometimes take so for granted. My mother always tells us that we live fantastic lives, never abuse, waste or take for granted even the tiniest blessings. Experiences like these really opens up my eyes and my heart and more so my tear glands, LOL!

We’re pleased with our deed, so much so that we decided to make it an annual thing, of course with Ms. Danielle spare-heading it. Great deeds are infectious, I’m hoping other families/people take note and try a good deed every now and then. These kids receive so many gifts and food and goodies that they hardly know what to do with them. So we decided to, instead of making it a Christmas affair, we’d do it perhaps every Easter or so.

So, three cheers for Danielle Samuel!! :-D Growing up and making us all proud…

Love ya sis.

Well Overdue.

Finally I have a moment to come up for air.

All the while I was over in the UK I totally resented MSN messenger and stood clear of it. I made it my business not go onto it. Of course, for more reasons that one. But now that I am back Home for the Holidays, sadly I can’t say the same. So long as I am in the house, I am signed on. And can I tell you, if ever I didn’t know how to multi-task, I certainly know now. Because as long as I am in the house I am on MSN, chatting/texting on the phone, helping Mother out with business matters and otherwise, struggling with C&W’s poor internet service and barking behind my brother and sister. On the other extreme when I am out of the house, I am socialising with the girls, “taking care of business” as I like to call it, or just plain old OUT because y’all know I hate being bored indoors. Either which way, the updates become delayed.

As promised , although this is a bit later than anticipated, I’ve figured out the one thing (or person, as you would later read) that made me most happy this year – my Mother. I managed to give it thought between running around doing my daily thing and I am sure that she made me most happy. So as opposed to last year where I had a list of 4. This year I’ve only got just one.

I somehow don’t feel the obligation to go on and explain why. Anyone who has left the single parent-with-little-ones nest will definitely know where I’m coming from. And anyone else with a brain can put two and two together to figure it out the situation. She has really changed for the better and impressed me and my siblings in many respects. She’s been a blessing to all of us and she did it all alone. We didn’t and still don’t need a father. It’s just as matter of balance.

Speaking of ‘Balance’, I‘ve been giving serious consideration to my goals and expectations for ’08 and what changes I’d like to see be made for my new year and the new year. Will let you guys in on that secret as soon as I am finished sorting my feelings. I am sure on one thing though, the overly affable ZZ will be out the door before she can ask “Why?!”, LOL.

Well people, I shall be in touch again.

Awaaaay, for now.

People, I am still alive and well – thank God. But I must apologise for the delay in new entries and pictures. I’m away on vacation and the internet connection is too crappy to get much of anything done on the site.

So when I return to the UK in the new year, I shall post pictures and videos too. However, I will post a new entry or two before the year is over I have already started 3 but not yet completed them.

Stay tuned….
