Funny enough, Maybe.

Funny enough, about 2 weeks ago I checked out my Romantic Horoscope review for 2007 and the very first paragraph read “Your partnership will bring very comforting moments to you. Your desire for luxuries will most likely be enhanced by a new love relationship that adds an artistic flair to your life. This special person will trigger your energetic, passionate, enthusiastic and ambitious side. You have great charm and poise, and the opposite sex finds you very attractive. Your communication skills will help you in rounding this person up – and you refuse to let this one get away!”

Now, as much as I subscribe to horoscopes or check it every so often, I don’t always believe what I read, obviously. From time to time I find myself nodding in agreement because what it says is sheer truth or at other instances, just screwed with confusion. I’m sure you can all relate. Sometimes these horoscopes say things that in no way, shape or form pertains to the life we’re living. And the effect is even worst on the person who claims to be a TOTAL horoscope none-believer and still reads it religiously only to find themselves one day, jaw dropped, eyes bright because why? – Because what they what they just read made perfect sense. The effect is like “Oh WOW, so true” (Ok, that just sounds like a Zindzi reaction, lol) but you get the message!!

I’ve strayed enough and back in focus now. So after reading my ”romantic review” for 2007 Of course, being the love-sceptic that I am, I doubted. I doubted it right to the very last word and it’s no mystery why. Anyway, I still left a part of me open thinking that maybe, just maybe, the bloody horoscope wouldn’t fail me. I remember I posted it on FB and my comments beneath read “This is yet to manifest..I suppose the year isn’t over yet!” – and that just shows you how hopeful I really was.

So it’s now 10 days later and bearing the words of the review in mind, I think I am seeing some progress in that direction. Can the horoscope thingy actually be right? Hmmmm…Anyway, anything can happen before now and January 1st right? So I’m holding on and all I can do is wait this one out.

'So others may live.'?

Last night I watched ‘The Guardian’, the US Coast Guard movie featuring Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher. The tag line for the film was ‘So others may live’ and it got me to thinking. The rescue workers in this movie had such tasks laid out for them. It seemed as though every attempt made to save another person’s life, meant putting their own in jeopardy. I’m not sure I could live that life on a day to day basis. Fair enough a good and self-less deed here and there but to me everyday is just beyond what I am willing to sacrifice – not being funny or anything to that effect. I mean, I’m not talking about a swim in a shallow pool doing their job means being in DEEP, rough, open and cold waters. There’s no telling what can happen out there. Geez, what a task, talk about a risk!

I even thought that it must be sad to live knowing that at any minutes it could be ‘here today gone tomorrow.’ But think about it, in this respect, we’re all like the rescue workers – We never know when our rope will be cut short. Which takes me to my point, never take life for granted, cherish every moment like your last. Never forget to say Thank You and Please, tell your dearest peoples that you Love them, show in every way how much they mean to you because at any point…let me type it again in caps so you can see, AT ANY POINT life can change so drastically. We just never know what will happen. I could be sitting here typing this entry and then…Who knows what’s next?! I can only hope and pray that I sleep sound and wake well but unfortunately, life comes with no guarantees.

Anyway, just thought I should reiterate the ever so shared wisdom.

Be sure to watch ‘The Guardian’ when you get time. Good movie, I will forever hold rescue workers in high respect. Their task is not easy at all. I’ve even been listening to the theme song by Bryan Adams, ‘Never let go’.

Before I go let me just stress this even more, our life is a matter of ‘here today gone tomorrow’ live, love and laugh beyond the limit! There’s no telling what the next minute may hold…

Know the Powerful Woman.

How would you describe yourself?

Beautiful, Fun-loving, Intelligent & Bountiful. I think that’s all that needs to be said, everything else falls into line from there.

Where did you grow up?

Lol…Tough one. I was raised in the Caribbean. Let’s just say the islands were my little play ground, Lol. I have lived on multiple Islands, my Mother and Father are from 2 different islands, so the influence has been great from all angles. But it would be very selfish of me to name one island.

What does “success” mean to you?

Everything. There is no other way to say it, success means EVERYthing to me. It is a determining factor on just about everything I do.

What does “failure” mean to you?

I despise the word and the people who live their life on it! Life is about choices, those great and those small. We are intelligent beings and, even if we do not know certain things for ourselves, we can see the mistakes of others and know that we aren’t supposed to do ‘x’ or ‘y’. So I think the choices that we make everyday determine the life we live. Failure should not be an option!

What are your three major accomplishments?

Wow, ummm….My education thus far, my siblings, and the blog site. I know it’s weird that I would say my siblings but I feel like I had a major part to play in their development, they’re a great part of me and I of them. I love them dearly, so they are definitely worth mentioning. Of course, none of this is anything without the BIG MAN! :-D

What is one thing you would like to do before you die?

Be somebody. Make a name for myself in this world, maybe a philanthropist, maybe an author, even an influential business woman. Or maybe ALL! Lol…But yes, I definitely want to remembered in the good books.

What if I told you that you’d work very hard, but recognition of your contributions would be nil?

That is all the reason for me to work harder! I know all good things manifest to those who wait and believe and those who have faith. So what if I work hard and no one recognized? – I’m going to work harder regardless. Maybe my legacy would live on after death, who knows?

What kinds of people do you enjoy being around?

Open minded, fun loving people. People who are not afraid to try new things, take on new challenges and risks. And this may sound silly but anyone who likes adventure. Lately I have a certain interest in adventure holidays, so anyone who can enjoy the same thing. I also like being around people from different cultural backgrounds, there is always something to be learnt. :-D

What kinds of people frustrate you?

Small minded, two faced people who thrive on breaking the spirits of others and pulling people down. I also despise the “leaches” those that are only around to suck you till you’ve gone dry…if you know what I mean.

What is your Personal favourite Quote?

“The consciousness of well doing is ample reward.” I went to school at St. Joseph’s Convent for almost four years and my principal for the first 2 years or so, always said this to us. Her name is Sister Gabrielle Mason. She has such a magnificent aura about her.

The Zindzi way…

Sleep seems to be the last option these days. If I am not taken up with an assignment or anything course related, I am caught up in one social event or another. This is life the Zindzi way…Remember the famous Assignment #3 I kept mentioning? Well they extended the deadline, so now I have more time to devote to completing it.

On Monday I was telling one of my lecturers about my blog site and he referred me to “Oscar Wilde”. Well can I tell you, I am very captivated in his words. Another friend of mine said that the one OW quote that will stick with her forever is “The truth is rarely pure and never simple.” True isn’t it?

He has so many quotes, I am nowhere near complete, but thus far my favourite would have to be “A little sincerity is a dangerous thing, and a great deal of it is absolutely fatal.” Boy, did I learn this the hard way, not once, not twice, but too many times! Sometimes we’re just too kind, overly friendly, too nice. We need to just say NO, be frank, and just let them have it…sigh! Sadly, though, some people are no good at taking hints and are even worst at understanding that NO means NO. Personally, I don’t think we must be harsh, but don’t you think that some people just ask for it? Rather…beg for it? So so Sad!

Its Wednesday, I just finished washing my hair and doing some vacuuming. I have some girlies coming over later. FUN FUN FUN…Pics coming soon.

Ohhhh, I found new joy in African, French and Chinese music! That’s just the least of it, my dancing is the most entertaining part. I cant wait to share this music with Danielle and Andre, Chazzy, and mommy too. Nikki and Danni, I will hook you guys up with the music as well, no worries.

People, I am off to nap (I need more than that, but that’s all I can afford at this minute, LOL) before the night takes off. This is life the Zindzi way…

HAPPY WEDNESDAY Ppl!

Today and ALWAYS, Zindzi!
