What makes me Mad?

Too many times people tend to look at who is speaking rather than what is being said. It’s high time people learn to put aside all personal prejudices and focus on the facts! Instead of criticizing the imperfections of the person delivering the message, try to focus on the validity of the message itself. In the end it would not benefit you one bit if you concern yourselves with the speaker since it is the message that will inevitably affect you.- Today I was listening to a local talk show and this was essentially one of the points a contributor made.

Screw the fact that you may not like a particular minister or government official!! It is in our interest as citizens and residents to pay heed to what our government is putting before us. We need to focus on whether what they are saying is down right BS or of some substance to us, not on who is saying it!

I must admit sometimes I fall victim to this very issue that I am addressing. But at the end of the day, I can recognize where I fall short. So many people are just too ignorant and arrogant sometimes to admit their shortcomings!

We need to open eyes and ears and pay close attention to the matters at hand. The last thing we need is to get ‘left behind’ in our country because of our blindness and negligence.

And that, my friends, is what makes Zindzi mad!
