Month: June, 2007

June in a nutshell ;-)

Another month of accomplishments, GOOD-BYE!

I must say that June was bitter/sweet. I went from studying my ass off for exams, to finishing college, to partying into the wee hours of the morning, to resting day and night, to beach bumming and coming home looking like a burnt slice of white bread, to renewing friendships, to laughs, to crying, the occasional depression and last but not least forming a bizarre bond with the unknown.

Some month huh? I know. And I’d do It all again this month….SIGH… Such is my life!

But I wave it good-bye knowing that I took many lessons with me. I also closed a chapter or two in the past month. I gave birth to this beautiful creation to be able to reach out to people and discuss what I am most passionate about. I get to share my family and friends with you guys. They say show me your friends and I’ll she show you who you are, so here they are!

I know there are the anti-positive mongers who just love to visit my site. Continue, you’re increasing my visitor count and contributing to Beauty-full stats. LOL! Once you never attempt to poison my site with your negativity, we cool! I have come to terms with the well known fact that people will always talk especially the insecure ones with no aim or ambition.

Your comments on the blogs and your contributions in the VentBox have really lovely and frequent too. Big Thank You goes out to all my avid and new visitors from me, yours nobly. I will continue to put my best foot forward to encourage you and more visitors.

Tomorrow I will be launching a new page. Look out as that should be exciting :-D

My response.

Dear readers,

What I am about to say may be a bit confusing, a bit contradictory or even maybe a bit unusual. Just try to understand where I’m coming from. Or if you’re really confused feel free to email me your questions.

On Monday a female middle-aged public servant was found brutally murdered at her residence. At first it was speculated she was raped and stabbed and left to cling to little life. I was stunned, shocked. Never in my wildest dreams did I see such happening to some one of her caliber. Not that I am trying to insinuate that such happens to anyone in particular. But later forensic investigation stated that she had not been raped. I had read bits and pieces of news articles, heard news stories a few here and there but did not pay too much attention to the case.

Little did I know, my previous interest would be evoked by the unthinkable!!

On Wednesday police apprehended a suspect in connection to the homicide. I had heard that around four suspects were apprehended. Not until a friend, last night, brought to my attention that the main suspect was a 15 year old boy…..SIGH…I was shocked cold. All sorts of thought flew through my mind about our political instability and our youth, and gripping chills ran through my body. I was once again interested in this particular case.

Believe it or not, I wanted the harshest punishment conceivable for this boy. I hated the thought of him doing what he was accused of doing.

On the instant that I saw his picture, I felt attached. Wanted to cry, not even sure why. I felt the need to get to know him. I don’t want to hear the manipulated news stories anymore, or eye witnesses’ accounts, or statistics or his family situation. I want to hear from him; what were his thoughts, intentions, and motive, anything there is to know. I felt a dire need to know him!

Screw that fact that he was raised in a broken home (with an absent father). I know too many children raised in such a situation that have never committed such a heinous act. So its time the media finds some other attribute for his behaviour. I no longer want to hear their polished accounts or twisted stories. I feel the need for the real deal, from the main suspect.

I remember sometime ago a boy around this similar age was wanted for several robberies. I empathized with him. I wanted medical help and attention for him. Quite contrary sentiment this time! Although I am deeply worried about our youth, I firmly believe that this particular 15 year old should get the maximum punishment-not for his age- but for his act. He needs legal help!

However, that does not eliminate my strong connection. I feel connected but outlandish enough, I can’t say on what level. I know we are not related by blood, we have never met, I don’t know the guy from Adam! But I want to. I am seriously interested in his thoughts at that moment. What did he go there for? What was he hoping to accomplish?

For such an act this guy is going to spend the rest of his life paying. If the justice system does not give him maximum time for his crime, society will beat the crap out of him, mentally. That is, through scorn and reject.

This is as bizarre to me as it may be to you. I am not sure why I feel such a strong connection, but I do. I think this is a sign. I have always been extremely passionate about one day being of inspiration and assistance to youths of all colours, classes and creeds. And my interest in this case just serves as a light right down my alley.

This young man is still sitting on my mind. And I WILL seek to find out why. I need to find out WHY! I’ve made a promise to myself, that if he gets time at prison, I will make it my duty to visit him.

….sigh….I know! It was a bit confusing but I just had to get it off my chest, had to let you guys know. I will keep you updated as to my progress.

Thanks for your attention.

Yours truly,

Zindzi

Optimistic!

The truth is…

We’ve all likely heard the saying, ‘When one door closes, another one opens.’ I am sure many of us have had experiences that lend credence to the saying. Perhaps you have lost a much desired job only to have an even better one come along. Maybe a casual relationship you thought would lead to one of greater commitment failed, leaving you emotionally devastated, but then someone came into your life and changed everything. Maybe you lost out on an opportunity that left you frustrated only to have something even more wonderful come along later on.

I wonder though, how many times we have missed out on the bigger, better blessings that are there for us because we were doggedly fighting to keep door #1 open, and by doing so, prevented door #2 from opening or merely overlooking door #2 altogether. So often, we are so determined to hang on to what we already have that we can’t even begin to fathom what else is in store for us. We like the rhythm of our life as it is. We don’t want to move forward, change, grow or stretch. We’re satisfied to remain right where we are, to be stagnant in our development as individuals.

So with that said…Have an optimistic day!

Savoir est Beau!

(Knowing is beautiful!)

I’m listening to this part English part French song by Kelly Rowland and it has a lovely piano sounding in the background. All that good music just bumped me right into reflection mode AKA blogging mode!

Last night I was telling a guy friend how much I want to learn the laws of the universe or the 7 spiritual laws of success. So today I have done a bit of research and I have put together a list and a brief explanation of each.

Hope you take something with you!

- The Law of Pure Potentiality – The basis of all creation is untainted consciousness. Pure potentiality is seeking expression from the un-manifested to the manifested When we realize that our true self is one of pure potentiality, we align with the power that manifests everything in the universe.

- The Law of Giving – The universe operates through vibrant exchange. That is, giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.

- The Law of Cause and Effect – Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind. What we sow is what we reap. And when we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, the fruit of our action is happiness and success.

- The law of Least Effort – Nature’s intelligence functions with effortless ease. That is, with care-freeness, harmony, and love. When we harness the forces of harmony, joy, and love, we create success and good fortune with effortless ease.

- The Law of Intention and Desire – Inborn in every intention and desire is the workings for its fulfilment. That is, intention and desire in the field of pure potentiality have infinite power. When we introduce an intention in the fertile ground of pure potentiality, we put this infinite organizing power to work for us.

- The Law of Detachment – In detachment lies the wisdom of uncertainty. In our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender ourselves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the universe.

- The Law of Purpose in Life – Everyone has a purpose in life, a unique gift or special talent to give to others. When we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of our own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.

Feel that? I did! I feel even more Beauty-Full now. My favourites are ‘Law of purpose in life’ and ‘Law of Cause and Effect’. Let me know what you think.

Savoir est beau, they say. La vie est Belle, I say!

YES! I see Change!

Change!

Someone once told me to ensure that I surround myself with people with dreams as big as mine, or at least those who are supportive of my dream. Because the envious ones will not help me get to where I dare to be. You know what’s brilliant? The fact that I see it play out almost everyday in my life. I see it now more than ever especially since I can see those around me getting up to par with desired standards, with maturity, with HAPPINESS and even with womanhood.

I see relationships- both old and new- blossoming in to lifetime bonds. It’s like a breath of fresh air, it feels Goooood. Talk about God and Time. That’s all it took really. He just knows when, why and how. No question for him. LOL!

At first I wasn’t sure if what I observed was a good twist, or if it was negative energy. But again, it took time. I figured it out. All along it was a good twist to life. I’m looking forward to more change, blessed change that is. I think in time, you too will see it. Sometimes the most important of things, simplest of things that we don’t recognize are right in front of us.

Change is part of Beauty (the journey). They say the only thing constant in life is Change. So let’s embrace it.

..::Welcoming Womanhood::..

Women can do anything men can do (maybe even twice as better)! And we’re doing it!

I feel like my journey into appreciation of Womanhood is well on its way. I am on this path which embraces all downfalls and accepts all winnings. I am on his path because someone greater than I has a plan for me and my life. I am following because I am a woman of strength and because I believe. Sometimes women take for granted this gift they’ve been given. We forget that our creator is always there, or we underestimate his power or, from time to time, we forget his presence. Admittedly there were times when I wouldn’t take time off to thank Him but I, time and time again, welcomed his blessings and will continue to do just that.

It’s Him; all the time, everytime; he’s there when we struggle to heights in the job market, when we make history, when we leave a mark on people, when we give birth, when we nurture and care for others, when we meet our special someone, when we laugh and even when we cry. I used to think that something was missing, it was really someone. This man is powerful and merciful, beyond description.

There is no forgetting Him for He has given me, this woman, gifts far beyond what any other person (man woman or child) can give me, far beyond anything I could imagine. Among these is the gift of Womanhood, which I am thankful for and use as my weapon every day! Who said womanhood had to be a curse?! Never underestimate what it can do. It is powerful.

The void I once felt in my life is now filled. I have a desire for life. I am happy; needing nothing more. I am dreaming BIG because together, Him and I will accomplish great things! I am his gift to the world, just like you. Because I’m a woman and because I am black does not make me any less of a gift than the Caucasian woman or man.

Together Him and I, the woman, are gonna take the world by storm. With His grace and guidance I will climb the highest mountain, make my way over hurdles, overcome obstacles and live my every dream.

I glorify Him every day because he has always kept this woman safe and strong. He is doing it not because I’m faithful, not because I trust him to be with me always, not because I’ve always obeyed but because He loves me!

I am Woman, and a darn good one at that!

Glorify your Womanhood, ladies It’s all we got!
