Dear Diary…January 6th 2012
Dear Diary,
It’s the first week of the year, first week back at work, first week of bad news….well, not bad but potentially life-changing news. I am trying to take it one day at a time and lay down a plan in the event that it does change my life. Not particularly pleased, but sa pou faire? (kweyol to english: what to do?) but I suppose everything in its own time. There is an ultimate master plan much greater and much grander than yours and mine that will inevitably unveil itself – but it never hurts to be prepared. So I continue to pray about it and I also have the comfort in the arms and on the shoulders of my family and loved ones.
All will be well.

Happy New Year!
2011 was the most amazing year of my life to date. I grew into my own person, building my own life – separate from my family life and very private and personal to me – and learnt so much about myself and about different aspects of life. I had the opportunity to interact with lots of people and in the process learned that no two persons are the same and sometimes what works for some may not work for others. It is very important that we treat people on their own merit. I taught myself the importance of distance and time. Sometimes we need to pull ourselves away from the things and the people we love the most to build a deeper passion and understanding. Sometimes the people who love us most pull away for periods of time for their own personal development, for their own peace. We as friends, partners and team-players need to understand and accept that. I’m happy I learnt that when I did because now I am a better friend, a better partner and a better team-player – I am more patient and understanding.
I am thankful to everyone I met along the 12 month journey that was 2011 – You have all played a treasured part in my life. My family – thank you for always being there, for keeping me grounded and for being a constant reminder of my daily purpose. I love you guys to bits and pieces. My best-friend – you are the light of my life, the love of my life, thank you for keeping me smiling, thank you for listening and reminding me that’s its ok to be me and it’s ok to mess up sometimes. I love you to infinity. The OOMA – Thank you for adding joy to my life, thank you for simply being there and thank you for an unforgettable year. I’m eternally grateful to God for your presence in my life and for the connection we’ve managed to build and maintain amidst some of what seemed liked the worst times in our lives. I’m happy I met you and I wish you a life full of success, love and happiness in everything you do. 2011 was ours baby and will forever be ours – yours and mine. Thank you baby! I loved it, I love you so dearly.
Happy 2012 to all my family, friends, co-workers & acquaintances…and of course, to my readers! I wish you all the success and happiness that this world has to offer. I wish for you and your loved ones health and strength and genuine connections in the 12 months ahead. May all your wishes come true!

I Threw My Bestie A Surprise Party!
So earlier this month I got this bright idea to throw a surprise BBQ and drink up for my Best-friend on the eve of her bday so we could all help her ring it in…Had all the guest RSVP the week before, organised the drinks, her sister and mother organised the eats, had all the guests get to the venue (my house) by a certain time (some came much later than planned), I got all dressed up, went to pick her up along with her sister, put on her tiara, pinned on her ‘Birthday Girl’ ribbon, blind folded her, drove around “in search of this bar that I know but always have trouble finding” (well thats what I made her believe anyway, I was just driving in circles to confuse her), got the signal from back at the house that they were ready, then I drove up to my house (or in her mind the spot I was taking her to), the gate was already opened so she never had to hear that, drove in the drive way, got out the car and escorted her out the car because of course she was blind folded, I even fed her a lie that she had to stay in the spot I made her stand because there was a big pot-hole near-by and if she’d moved she would step right in it with her HOTT shoes (there was no hole), everyone stood waiting, I removed the blind fold, and everyone yelled “SURPRISE!”, she teared up, she was happy…So happy she got mad that I planned all of this right under her nose and she had no clue! – Boy was she surprised…See pics below!

I Have A Problem With This Cover Story…
So first of all, Congrats to Kourt and Scott! They’re great parents to Mason and I’m sure they’ll be just as great to baby #2.
2nd of all, Let me say that I *HEART* Keeping Up With The Kardashians and all the other spin-off shows. I think they’re very entertaining.
Thirdly and most importantly, I have a problem with the choice of words in the cover title. I suppose I really can know what was said until I read the story inside, but “- and why she till won’t marry him” – If I was Scott I’d be highly insulted! I mean, granted they’re not married, and she’s the one who really and truly is fighting marriage at this point but I honestly believe that when you live so much of your life in the lime-light it becomes important to watch what you say, where you say it and to whom you say it. Tasking. But its very important to avoid miscommunication and in this case to avoid disrespecting your loved ones.
In my opinion when two people build a committed relationship together and they share a life and a home and have kids, the I’s and He’s and She’s become They’s and Us’s and We’s – for the most part anyway. And our entire mindset should change, after all you’re no longer living for just yourself. They have a life TOGETHER!
The last part of the cover story title should have read “- and why they still won’t get married.” As it is now it almost sounds spiteful and malicious and indiscreet. It sounds like “Why would I wanna marry Scott anyway?” – I mean really? Really? – Even if that’s genuinely how she feels, she owes it to the life they share together to be a little more discreet.
I just think Kourtney owes Scott and their family-life that much.
